5 Video Simulations to Help You Experience Autism Highlighted by Mashable
(April 25, 2014) This week, Mashable came out with an article called 5 Autism Simulations To Help You Experience Sensory Overload. The article explains that many individuals with autism are creating these videos to help our society understand some of the things people with autism experience. Our very own Dr. Paul Wang, Autism Speaks senior vice president and head of medical research, was interviewed by Mashable about these sensory issues. It is hard to appreciate what it is like to be in the shoes of someone with ASD, said Dr. Wang. To the extent that these simulations can illustrate how noxious sensory stimulation can be for individuals with ASD, they may help the general population to better understand the difficulty of living with ASD.
