ABLE Wins Final Vote In Senate
WASHINGTON, DC The ABLE Act won final Congressional approval today in the Senate on a 76-16 vote and now heads to President Obama for his signature. The vote culminated an eight-year campaign to gain Congressional approval for tax-free savings accounts to help individuals and families finance their longterm disability needs. ABLE, or the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act, was voted out of the House last week 404-17. We celebrate Senate passage of this historic bill that will provide families with disabilities with what they deserve: a chance to help themselves, said Autism Speaks President Liz Feld.
